Oooh, I love these photos! You really have an eye for capturing the essence of a place. And no one ever takes pictures of the sky and I’m suddenly wondering why not – beautiful!
Thanks… the sky was often beautifully cloudy in Oaxaca!
Oh freaking wow!!! Loooooove that flag reflection photo.
Yeah, I love those rare times when shadows are colorful.
Great photos!! We recognized the Pan & Co Cafe right away, we went there quite few times during our stay in Oaxaca
I miss that place! I went there often, mostly for an afternoon cappuccino and sometimes for a sandwich at lunch time. Yuuum.
Well this brings back memories. Oaxaca is really beautiful and I fondly remember Santo Domingo square and the zocalo.
Thanks for stopping by, Ariane
I loved Oaxaca… it’s not so full of attractions, but it’s such a great place for art, culture and food.
Great photos! I loved my (albeit brief) time in Oaxaca and it’s nice to see it again in pictures!
Thanks!
Really pretty. My favorite is the “Celebration and Tradition” shot in Santo Domingo Square.
Thanks, Lola. I took a bunch of shots of that particular wedding celebration and it was hard to narrow it down to just one photo! Loved their colorful attire.
Oaxaca is my favourite place in Mexico! Love the photos.
Oaxaca is such a great place. Can’t believe it took me so long to discover it!
Ekua,
I really love your picture of the zocalo… it reminds me of a trip I took there with my mom a few years ago for the Guelageutza. Did you see that this summer? in any case, I love how there’s always music and dancing and revelry in that square. There’s also a restaurant there with the most amazing tortilla soup! I hope i make it back some day…
I had to leave before Guelaguetza, unfortunately. Another time!
Hi:
I just came across your blog, a few days before leaving for my first visit to Oaxaca. Your stories, photos, experiences and observations of the people and culture are awesome. My level of excitement about this trip is now through the roof!
Many thanks…..
Awesome, no problem! I hope you have fun in Oaxaca, it’s such a great place!
Hi Ekua,
I just came across your blog and love it!! I fell in love with Oaxaca on a road trip through Mexico and your photos took me back to great memories. I just missed Guelaguetza too. Wasn’t the food there fantastic?
